Publisher Description:
This is the third book in a series, following the career of Michael Sullivan, trial lawyer, Congressman and newly elected to the United States Senate in 2008 contemporaneously with Barack Obama's election as 44th President of the United States. Early on Michael Sullivan and his colleagues determine the new President constitutes a danger to the Republic as he seeks to take the country down the road to socialism, big government and a weakened world posture. As a freshman Senator he leads his party against the left leaning proposals of the new administration, fights against appointment of a biased Supreme Court nominee and argues for a restoration of America's place as leader of the free world. In 2012, the Republican nominee for President, John Madden, opens the choice of Vice President to the delegates at the Republican National Convention. At Madden's invitation Michael decides to contest for the nomination and after leading on the first ballot narrowly loses on the second. This loss sets the stage for a re-election campaign in 2014, unceasing battle against a lame duck President and a plan to seek the presidency in 2016.
