Contributor Bio(s): Baker, Caroline: - Caroline Baker is Director of Dementia Care at Four Seasons Health Care. She was a Consultant Trainer in Dementia Care Mapping and Person-Centred Care at Bradford Dementia Group, Bradford University. Her previous roles were Clinical Nurse Specialist in Dementia Care for Walsall Primary Care Trust, Independent Social Services Liaison Nurse for Walsall Community Health and Manager of Newfield House, a care home in Coventry. She has written many articles for the Journal of Dementia Care and Caring Times, and has contributed to a book on Dementia Care Mapping for Hawker Publications. In 2013 she won the Lifetime Achievement in Dementia Care at the 4th National Dementia Care Awards. She lives in Staffordshire, UK.Lipinska, Danuta: - Danuta Lipinska has worked with people with dementia in the community for over thirty years. She has a BA in Psychology and a MA in Counselling, both from the University of New Hampshire, USA. Danuta has worked as Director of Elderly Services in a community counselling service, a training consultant in dementia care and ageing, a qualified nurse, and Director of Nursing in a residential care home. She is a registered and accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and the UKRC Association of Independent Practitioners. Danuta has designed and run specialist counselling services for people with dementia and their carers, and continues to support them as a counsellor and supervisor of others. She is a freelance trainer, consultant and international speaker in ageing and dementia care. Danuta has recently been a tutor on the Post Graduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling at The Norwich Centre for Counselling and Spiritual Accompaniment in Norwich, England, where she now lives. |
