Publisher Description:
In the fast-paced life we live today, do you sometimes wonder what life was like years ago living in a small rural town? Maybe you talked to your senior family members or viewed TV specials depicting life in the early 20th Century. I had the advantage of growing up in a small upper New York State town called Le Roy, where everyone almost knew everyone in times that today would be considered slow and simple. Our family lived two miles south of town on a small farm acquired by my grandparents Charles and Mary Brown, in 1903. My parents Jack and Nellie Brown, raised their family on this small farm, becoming lifetime residents of the Le Roy community. In the old farmhouse, we had a small kitchen with an oak brown table upon which we enjoyed our meals and conversation. Have you ever admired an attractive piece of antique furniture and wondered what it witnessed over years of use? If it could only talk and reveal community events along with conversations of the family experiencing personal, humorous, and tragic times. This book centers around this Old Brown Table and tells ninety tales that occurred for over 80 years of family life in the Le Roy community. May you enjoy and live these family experiences as I have through the years.
