Contributor Bio(s): Horwath, Jan: - Jan Horwath is Professor of Child Welfare at the University of Sheffield. She worked as a practitioner, trainer and manager in both voluntary and statutory social work settings before becoming an academic in 1995. She is author of Child Neglect: Identification and Assessment; Effective Staff Training in Social Care: From Theory to Practice with Tony Morrison; Working for Children on the Child Protection Register: An Inter-Agency Practice Guide with Martin Calder; and Making Links Across Specialisms: Understanding Modern Social Work Practice with Steven Shardlow.Daniel, Brigid: - Brigid Daniel is Professor of Social Work at the University of Stirling. She is the co-author of a number of books on child care and protection and has a particular interest in factors that help children to cope with adversity. She was a member of the multi-disciplinary team that carried out a national ministerial review of child protection practice in Scotland. |
