Publisher Description: Five siblings inherit a blanket. They lie beneath it, together, to stay warm. But inevitably body parts stick out and they squabble and tug. They do not realize that they would all fit if they just moved closer together. The Blanket Stories Project invited poets, artists, and musicians to respond to this tale of sibling strife. The goal was to demonstrate how, through collaboration, the significance of a parable can be artistically reiterated in an infinite number of ways. Many responses were exhibited/read/performed at a launch event in New York City in June of 2014. Others may be found in the online gallery at blanketstories.net. Select poems and artwork appear in this book. |
