Contributor Bio(s): Stinchfield, Rick: - Rick and Lynne Stinchfield have volunteered at Capitol Reef National Park for three months in each of the last eleven years. During that time they have explored not only the park, but also a considerable portion of the public land that surrounds it. With each passing year their to-do list grows longer rather than shorter.

Upon their retirement in 2001 (Rick from higher education administration and Lynne from the antiques business) they worked at the Grand Canyon for more than a year-and-a-half, spending as much time as possible below the rim. After beginning their volunteer work at Capitol Reef, they also managed a venue at the annual Tucson mineral show.

Rick and Lynne led field classes for University of Northern Iowa students to various locations in the West. Their work at Capitol Reef has finally allowed them to put their geology degrees to use.

Rick and Lynne Stinchfield live in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, when they are not at the park, and enjoy volunteering there for the Pagosa District of the San Juan National Forest.
