Publisher Description:

The apocalypse plunged the world into an era of darkness, ignorance, and evil. For the past 200 years, survival has been the only law. But a myth has arisen, a myth of a magical kingdom that will open the door to enlightenment--or another upheaval of war and chaos.

Brad Sellers is a young man forced from an illiterate, controlling, religious community into the search for a fabled land confused with the ancient, mythical kingdom of Camelot. Fleeing from marauders and struggling against the elements of a brutal land, he and his uncle's family brave the perils of a two thousand mile exodus beyond the great western mountains. Along the way Brad finds love with a beautiful young woman. He faces adversities that test his rite of passage to manhood, forges friendships, and opens doors of understanding sealed and forbidden in his homeland. With understanding comes another search, one that asks questions about the past and opens the future. Who built the crumbling, but once mighty cities? Who were the ancient ones? What happened to their civilization? Why are there different stories? He believes Camelot holds the truth. His father told him: find Camelot and you'll find the answers to all the questions we can't ask here.

Fables draw Brad toward Camelot. Yet, as he nears his goal, rust spots appear on the knights' armor and cracks weaken the towers. Yes, people have heard of the wonderland; some have even visited it. They confirm the stories of electricity, automobiles, and skyscrapers, but they also speak of other things, troubling practices that one would never expect in a Utopian paradise. Drawn inexorably, Brad crosses the mountains and enters the fabled land, not knowing that he is to become a key player in the future of a nation.

Contributor Bio(s): Duke, Doyle E.: - I'm a retired photographer and a great grandparent with a love for the scenic beauty of our earth. I started writing late in life when I just couldn't keep quiet any longer. I write of love, fears, friendships, and the social and ecological issuers that threaten our world: racial intolerance, overpopulation, religious contentions, the destruction of our earth, and an imminent financial collapse. Hopefully, in an entertaining manner that warns rather than frightens, that educates rather than angers.
