Opened in 1993, Wake Robin was the first Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) and first Life Care Community in Vermont. Residents can move from independent living to increasing levels of support without a change in monthly fee (the Life Care promise). Today, some 25 years later, the community thrives. This book tells
the story of Wake Robin's origins and contemporary life on its campus. As a developmental and community psychologist, she studies ways in which the structures and practices of families and small communities influence human development, with particular attention to wellness and participatory action.Weinstock, Jacqueline S.: - Jacqueline (Jackie) S. Weinstock, PhD, is an associate professor in the Human Development & Family Studies Program at The University of Vermont. A lifespan developmentalist by training, she considers the ecology of adult development and how individuals seek and construct relationships and broader contexts that support their ongoing development.
