Publisher Description:

p"SIX: A Tall Titillating Tale" is a story where the dialogue soon indicates that this is not the usual kind of science fiction story. Conversations are resounding with rhyming, and abounding with alliteration. The credit or blame, depending on one's viewpoint, goes to the main character, astronomer Sonny Solarski. He relishes speaking that way, and this inspires nearly all of the other characters, of which there are many, to often do so as well, although this does slow down. Overall, the tale is intended to be wryly humorous. It is sometimes a bit racy. SIX starts out with a loud boom high in an Arizona sky, in the year 2525. No, it is not on a dark and stormy night, like in London in 1830. Rather, the sky is lit by a brilliant full moon, and is very peaceful, until now. Sonny is driving to work at a nearby observatory, when the boom of an explosion high in the sky causes him to bring his three-wheel convertible to a sudden halt. The noise draws his attention first to a swirl of smoke, and then to six erratically flashing lights in a hexagonal formation, in front of the Big Dipper. Five are red, and one is green. The green light breaks away from the formation, and rapidly descends in Sonny's direction. He soon observes that it is actually a large glowing, quivering, sphere, covered with interlocking hexagonal shapes. Alien-looking. It comes to a halt near Sonny. After a few moments it explodes, albeit harmlessly, and a voice loudly proclaims Hexagonza! That name, its meaning, and odd activities in its extremely far away locale are what this book is primarily all about. Logically, a person would think that Hexagonza may be the announced name of an inviting inhabited planet, moon, or perhaps gigantic asteroid way beyond our solar system. It is learned that, while extremely distant, it is none of them.
