PREFACEThe Bible says ask and you shall receive. That was Jesus Christ himself, handing down the instruction directly in Mathew 7:7. It encourages every human to pray. Prayer marks us as humble people with the fear of and dependent on God. The same Bible says if my people which are called by name shall humble themselves and pray, I shall hear from heaven and heal their land. And we are also told to pray without ceasing. We should take all things to God in prayer.DO WE NEED TO BE TAUGHT TO PRAY?My sincere answer is a big yes. There is nothing wrong in anyone asking for prayer points or being taught how to pray. In the bible the apostles asked Jesus Christ for prayer points. Luke: 11:1 "And it came to pass, that as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray as john also taught his disciples".Also, it is better to humble yourself and ask for prayer points than to pray amiss. (James 4:3) James 4:3New International Version (NIV)3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.Consider this: anybody can insert a car key, start the car and begin to drive. Anybody can drive a car even those who did not learn how to drive at all but if you did not learn how to drive before getting behind the steering, either you hit somebody or somebody will hit you and both are disastrous So we need to pray and pray without ceasing and to avoid praying amiss, there is no harm in being taught the proper way to pray. Yet, I must state when words fail you, speak in tongues Chapter OneWHY THIS BOOK?THIS BOOK WILL POINT OUT TO YOU THE NEED TO KNOW THE WILL OF GOD FIRST.It is not enough to pray, you must pray in accordance with the will of God. Therefore, for your prayers to achieve the desired result, you must first of all, find out what the will of God for that thing, situation and circumstance is.YOU MUST KNOW WHAT EXACTLY IT IS YOU WANT. You must also know exactly what you want and pray specifically for. Our Lord Jesus Christ says we pray and have no answers because we pray amiss. Let me share a story I read in one of Pastor Shambach's book: the young man went to the man of God and asked to be prayed for so that he can land a job. The man of God asked him what type of job he wanted and the applicant said just any job would do. Seeing that the requester is a graduate, the priest laid hand on his head and asked God to give him the job of a messenger. The young man sharply pulled off his head and rejected the job of a messenger. And that brings me to the third point. YOU MUST NOT ONLY KNOW WHAT YOU WANT YOU MUST GO SPECIFICALLY AND DIRECTLY TO ASK FOR WHAT YOU WANT AND NOT SOMETHING RESEMBLING IT. These are reasons why I have written this book, to give direction when it comes to prayer content. To make us ask for the right things and to be specific. God does not answer us because of the volume of words spoken. Rather he listens to our specific issues and that is why to avoid squandering quality time, wandering spiritually or splitting one prayer point into twenty, we need a book that points out areas of focus to us.This book not only encourages women to pray but reminds them of relevant prayer points. Many a time, we set out to pray and for several reasons, we spend quality time rigmarolling in the name of praying, only to leave out some vital requests. Sometimes this could be due to forgetfulness but more often than not, we are crowded out by a myriad of issues, some of them not necessary at all. This book enables us to speak and do only the needful when we kneel.
