Publisher Description: The main focus of this piece is to work on developing various narratives and voices that define my identity. I work with different genres, mainly poetry, to identify those discourses that define my senses of the self. Using hybrid literature (fictocriticism), my intention is to work on a self-reconstruction and transformation based on a dialogic discourse (heteroglossia). This piece relies on working with the polivocality that defines my persona and a combination of Spanish and English to convey that concept of polivocality, the linear and non-linear languages, and the concept of the "prodigal writer" as an act of resistance to the dominant discourses (i.e. religion, family expectations, traditions, culture, and academic writing). |
