The Readymade Garments industry is the only multi-billion dollar manufacturing and export industry in Bangladesh .More than 5 million livelihoods dependent on directly or indirectly on RMG sector. About 80% of garments workers are female. It is documented that 90 percent of the garment workers experienced illness or disease during the month prior to the interviews. Hepatitis B is one of the major diseases of mankind and is a serious global public health problem. So far no such study has been conducted on this specific hepatitis B virus infection issue among the workers of garment industries in our country. This study is expected to reveal the prevalence of this disease along with its risk factors. This might need special interest for prevention.
