Publisher Description: Evangelism is the core task of the Christian church. In Ghana, when the issue of evangelism crops up, rural areas are the foremost locations that are considered for evangelism. This suggests that the urban areas have been thoroughly evangelized. However, there are unnoticed and neglected urban public spaces by the church and pastors for evangelism. The few Churches and pastors who find the need for evangelism in urban market places are those with Pentecostal/Charismatic passion. Many often, they were labeled as preaching for money. In other words, they preach in the markets due to offering they take from traders. This study attempted to investigate the dynamics of traders and market places in Ghana in order to inform contemporary and would-be preachers to design appropriate method and approach to evangelism. It also sought to analyze the background of preachers and concluded that, Ghanaian traders cherish the presence of preachers in the markets, because they help them through morning devotion and pray for the success of their businesses. |
