| Publisher Description: English summary: The first public debates after the end of National Socialism took place in political-cultural periodicals. This study makes the diverse corpus of about twenty-five journals (including Frankfurter Hefte, Geistige Welt, Die Wandlung) systematically accessible from a literary perspective for the first time. Regardless of their otherwise diverging ideological principles, it is the tradition of cultural critical thinking that forms the conceptual model shared by the majority of the contributors, including Alfred Weber, Karl Jaspers, Hans Werner Richter and Dolf Sternberger. This study reconstructs the semantic structure of this conceptual model. It also outlines how it was functionalized in order to answer the pressing questions of the post-war period. It thus sheds a unique light on a context that was influential for early post-war literature. German description: Die ersten offentlichen Debatten nach dem Ende des Nationalsozialismus wurden in den politisch-kulturellen Zeitschriften gefuhrt. Diese Studie erschliesst das disparate Korpus von rund 25 Zeitschriften (u.a. Frankfurter Hefte, Geistige Welt, Die Wandlung) erstmals systematisch aus literaturwissenschaftlicher Perspektive. Kulturkritische Denktraditionen sind das Denkmodell, in dem der Grossteil der Beitrager - etwa Alfred Weber, Karl Jaspers, Hans Werner Richter oder Dolf Sternberger - bei aller Disparitat weltanschaulicher Orientierungen im Einzelnen konvergiert. Die Untersuchung rekonstruiert die semantische Struktur dieses Denkmodells. Sie zeigt ausserdem, wie es funktionalisiert wurde, um die drangenden Fragen der Nachkriegszeit zu beantworten.
