Ever since the earliest analogue days of electroacoustic music, pioneers of the genre--including Pierre Schaeffer, Iannis Xenakis, Karlheinz Stockhausen, and Luigi Nono--used special devices and methods for their compositions and refined the possibilities of integrating the sound of space into music.
