Publisher Description:
In recent years, teacher inspection in most countries of the world has been discouraged with teacher supervision being encouraged. This research was aimed at establishing the effectiveness of teacher supervision during teacher inspection. Data was analyzed by means of descriptive and inferential statistics. The null hypotheses were tested by use of simple analysis of variance. The results indicated that effective teacher supervision aims at quality control, professional development, and teacher motivation. Inspectors needed skills on human relations and human resource development. The Inspectorate Departments should emphasize in their instructions to inspectors that they carry out more teacher supervision than inspection. Job satisfaction came out as a factor which could possibly influence the effectiveness of teacher supervision. Summative evaluation would enable stakeholders in teacher supervision understand the advantages and benefits of teacher supervision and be able to choose between supervision and inspection. This book is good and relevant tool to inspectors, Teachers, Human resource managers and supervisors in educational administration and in any industry in the world.
