Publisher Description:
Human Sacrifice in Uganda has become rampant in the recent past. Headlines of ritual killings have become a common sight in the local newspapers and have made news on the local radio and TV stations on almost a daily basis. The primary victims are children below the age of 13 years. This study is therefore an anaysis of child ritual murders in Uganda. It is relevant in fully comprehending the idea of child sacrifice. It investigates who the perpetrators are and what their motivation or justification is. The socio-economic and cultural factors which are responsible for the prevalence of the practice and a review of the current legislation and policy framework on the subject. The study suggests strong recommendations which would best rid the country of ritual murders or in any event curtail the rate at which they are committed.
