| Publisher Description: The aim of this study is to explore the contributing factors in improving women's survival in Bangladesh.The proposed supply and demand conceptual framework provides an explanation for analyzing the importance of improved health of women and newborns to reduce maternal and perinatal/neonatal mortality for the overall improvement of women's survival in the context of Bangladesh. Data from the Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS) and Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) are used to describe the changes in women's health situation in Bangladesh. The results show that a considerable decline in infant and child mortality has taken place over the past one decade.This is reflected in the gain in life expectancy of women of Bangladesh.The outcomes of this research could contribute to the literature for the researchers, planners and policy makers those who are working in this area. |
