Publisher Description:
It appears from the complete survey of literature, most of the equation of state are suitable for expressing the isothermal pressure-volume relationship. The thermodynamic state of a system is usually defined by pressure P, temperature T and specific volume V, linked by the equation of state (EOS). Various possible equation of states for solids (EOS) at high pressure and high temperature have been considered. In order to build compositional Earth models, it is indispensable to have an EOS for the regions of the interior of Earth as well as for the candidate minerals. The aim of the present work is to evaluate various useful and interesting properties i.e. Debye temperature, maximum Debye frequency, elastic anisotropy, shearing wave velocity, compressional wave velocity, mean wave velocity, shear modulus, Grüneisen parameter and Anderson- Grüneisen parameter. The present work is divided into five Chapters including introductory part of the thesis. Other chapters cover the evaluation of accustic properties and variation of pressure with different compressions. Agreement of result with experimental values are appreciable.
