ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

They are young, beautiful, musical, and they are orphans. If they disappear, nobody will ask about them. Right?

With the help of an official in the Spanish army, an independent, determined woman investigates serial murders in 18th-century Venice.

Venice, 1716. Caterina Sforza, apprentice coroner and daughter of the city's most renowned doctor, discovers the body of a woman crucified on a gondola: she is surrounded by candles and her breasts are tinted blue. This is the first in a series of murders with staging that is both beautiful and disturbing. The victims are alumni of the Ospedale della Piet , the conservatory for orphans with musical talent where the great Antonio Vivaldi teaches. Caterina enters the orphanage to discover the culprit. She is not alone: the Spanish captain Alfonso Guardi, known for his deductive skill and analytical capacity, helps her find out what lies behind the deaths in a ghost city where no one and nothing are as they seem.

"One of you will do something trivial that this animal will see as a sign of destiny. He will trap you with a ruse, he will take you to his torture chamber, and there will be no escape..."
