In light of two grammatical theories which are both structural and functional, developed by Simon Dik and Robert van Valin, the author points to the qualitative and participatory characteristics of the "verbal predication" in the particular meaning it is given in the "Functional Grammar." These two types of characteristics represent the semantic elements which interact with the synatactic transitivity. The discussion of these characteristics allows for a hierarchical classification of verbal predications. The analysis of the loss of aptitude of the predicative function of different classes of verbal entries generates a certain continuum of predicativity (auxiliarity). And through three comparative studies of French and German, the author finally demonstrates that certain structural characteristics of the French verbal lexicon are most clearly derived from a comparison between languages, based on a large corpus of translations. |

A la lumiere de deux theories grammaticales a la fois structurales et fonctionnelles developpees par Simon Dik et Robert van Valin, l'auteur met en evidence les proprietes aspectuelles et participatives de la predication verbale dans le sens particulier que confere a ce terme la Functional Grammar. Ces deux types de proprietes constituent des facteurs semantiques interagissant sur la transitivite syntaxique. La mise en evidence de ces proprietes permet l'elaboration d'un classement hierarchise des predications verbales.
