Publisher Description: In October of the year two thousand and eleven I was transferred from the federal prison of Fort Dix in the state of New Jersey to the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) located in Brooklyn County in New York City. The reason for my transfer was because they found me eligible to receive a sentence reduction based on an amendment that the sentencing commission approved in favor of all inmates accused of trafficking and sale of cocaine base or crack, as this derivative is popularly known from cocaine. The hearing in which the motion I made will be aired seeking the reduction of my sentence set for October 18, but because the government decided at the last minute to change positions, the court postponed the hearing For the same to take place on December 13 of that same year, that day I was taken to court and the hearing was held. For my misfortune, the reduction of my sentence was denied. As you can imagine this for me was a very hard blow, especially since I was very confident that due to my impressive record of good conduct in the almost fourteen years eligible by the General Attorney and the Probation Department. I have believed and I still, believe that I deserve a substantial reduction of my sentence, I do not exaggerate in affirming this. I sincerely believe that anyone who reviews my prisoner record could easily prove easily that I am telling the truth; In all the years that I have been detained I have only been sanctioned on one occasion, and It was an incident of very little consideration. |
