The spirit of never giving up

Life is a journey, it is an experience full of tears of joy, pain, and hope. The best thing to do in life is always to have a surviving spirit, always be an optimist and while at it don t ever give up Robinson Crusoe is a story narrated by Crusoe himself. He narrates his accounts as a voyager, as a lost man, and as a successful merchant.

Though from a well-up family in Europe, Crusoe chooses to follow his dreams of being a voyager even though it was against his family s wishes. On his first voyage with a friend when the ship encountered challenges and was forced to dock at Yarmouth, he didn t quit.

He chooses to undertake a voyage to Guinea in Africa instead of turning back. When the Turkish pirates attacked their ship, he was taken a slave for two years. Even as a slave he was planning his escape, and when the opportunity came, he and Xury, a Moorish youth, escaped.

Crusoe narrates how he and Xury stayed in uninhabited land where there were friendly natives until he sighted a Portuguese ship which took them to Brazil. It is here that he owned a plantation and started doing well as a trader. At this point, Crusoe decides to go on a voyage, unfortunately, there a shipwreck which killed everyone else but him.

Crusoe got to a shore of uninhabited land and stayed there alone for 27 years. All this while he kept pets and lived a full life until he saw human footsteps on the island. He rescued Friday from cannibal natives and taught him English and some skills. After a while, they rescued three more slaves from the cannibals.

After a while, Crusoe saw a ship and negotiated with the captain to have him and Friday taken back to Europe. Once back, Crusoe found that his plantation had accumulated so much wealth, and he became a rich man. He married and had three children.
