Publisher Description:
The story begins with four young adults around a campfire at night. Soon, they sense something stirring in the night and quickly gather their things to run. They see a farmhouse with lights on in a valley and run toward it. They are suddenly attacked by bullets and teeth as a Dog takes out one by the jugular. The source of the bullets is revealed as we introduce our main characters, a Senator, a Lawyer, a Bodyguard. A Hooker, a Preacher and a man named Tattoos. A Drunk, a Defendant and the Dog. The next day, a Stranger appears on top of a hill in the distance. Then another. Some of them go out to investigate. When they reach the Stranger, they see his eyes Possessed. He charges at them and they quickly shoot him dead. That's when they see a swarm of Others ascending up the hill. They quickly flee back to the house and everyone fires out at the oncoming attack. Successfully defended, they try and figure out what is going on. Eyes turn to the Preacher who cites examples from the Bible. He believes this is the end of times and there is much more to come. Everyone loads up and sets up defenses around the house. During the lull, we discover more about these characters and who they were before the Rapture. None of them were necessarily "good" people. Some regret the lives of their past while others embody it. Finally, the first wave comes. Thousands of Possessed charge the house. They are met with a hail of gunfire. All of them must work together if they have any chance to survive. But, when things get too much, the true character of everyone is exposed, some for the better and some for the worse. Wave after wave of attackers are held back. Eventually they break in and our anti-heroes must find a way to escape. Outside the house, they are met with the second and third waves of an Army of Undead and a Platoon of Hell Hounds. The remaining members run away, only to be met with the fourth and final wave, it's Death itself, riding on its Pale Horse. It leads the Armies, culminating in a Final Battle that determines the fate of good and evil.
