Publisher Description:
We Only Kill Each Other portrays criminals not as soldiers following orders as in traditional war games, but as social misfits motivated more by fear than ideals, engaging in violence but very much wanting it to be against someone else. It also recognizes the criminal violence of Prohibition and Depression as inseparable from their mostly urban environment. There are other rule sets presented in terms of Pulp Fiction-a noble game form, indeed-but not necessarily "realistic," just as Pulp Fiction itself was never meant to be "realistic." And there is a tendency to conflate Prohibition, Depression, and Mafia criminality with the only common denominator being the "crime." Here, each of these subjects observes the distinctions that give them their unique identity. It's the grittiest miniatures game of its kind.
