Publisher Description:
The middle years of the William Morgan Trilogy. After having been a "Cue Ball"; but before becoming a "Palagi". Bill had moved on to an upscale drug store chain and had achieved multiple successes and promotions, with the assistance of one of the other Store Managers that had climbed the corporate ladder to C.E.O. of the "daisy chain". Their alliance had a tenuous loyalty attached to it. When the call for "quid pro quo" came, Bill balked. That decision lead Bill to an entirely different set of realities and circumstances that he wasn't slightly prepared for. This; as are most of my stories, is gritty, no holds barred, candid and thorough in descriptions pertaining to "business affairs", racial attitudes and inter-racial marriage aspects. Realities of the world we all live and attempt to 'get by" in. The alliances people groom, the circumstances people face, the assumptions people make. Most importantly, the "behind the scenes" manipulations and control exerted by those interests that would control absolutely.every aspect of life for the majority. All; based in true events. however still, at it's core, imaginary and thought provoking.. To my mind a "MUST READ" reality check for so many that assume they are cognizant and sophisticated in their understandings of "how the world works". I actually wrote this story several year's ago; but waited for time to pass, some characters portrayed, to die, companies to fail and wounds to heal. Looking back, I regret having waited so long. Perhaps some mindless murders could have been prevented, some corporate corruption and crime could have been stopped and many people's self delusions could have been addressed. Hopefully, a valid and important story to be read and absorbed and internalized for many. Almost all emotions and actions we take in our lives are brought on by circumstance. How we react and what stance we assume comes from our own character, knowledge, experiences and personal values. Now; belatedly, I offer "One Man".
