Publisher Description:
Patients are dying at St. Raphael's Hospital. That sucks. What's worse? I think a doctor is behind the deaths.
Me? I'm an x-ray tech. I can see through people. That's cool, but is it enough to stop a psychotic neurosurgeon? Can I use my x-ray skills to learn the truth before it's too late for me and my patients?

"Time, Distance, and Shielding is an easy read with high-tension chapters and captivating scenes that left me wanting to know what happens next at nearly every turn. I recommend this book to any radiologic technologist who enjoys mystery novels, doesn't mind a little gore and enjoys progressive content." - Rebecca G. Hamm, Scanner Magazine
What Amazon readers are saying about Time, Distance, and Shielding:

★★★★★ 'Loved this book. It combines all of the things I enjoy, radiology, teaching, and thrillers. I highly recommend to any X-Ray tech or tech in training. The suspense kept me interested from start to finish.'
★★★★★ 'I know these people, having worked with techs for 42 years. This story really strikes a chord, not only for people who work in radiology. Many dedicated workers in hospitals who work their tails off but get little respect will relate. The story is beautifully written. In the middle of what one might start to think are filler paragraphs, there are many great lines such as "Surgical teams often arrive at that place where they can finish each other's sentences and marriages..."'
★★★★★ 'Very good book regarding radiology world. Keep my interest peaked. Definitely will be waiting for the second book. Can't wait.'
★★★★★ 'Great twist at the end.'
Interview with the Author
Q - So what makes the X-ray Diaries series so special?A - I threw a lot of things into the X-ray Diaries, really. I have always loved medical stuff. The human body is amazing, and it's equally amazing we can use x-rays to see inside the body. And, you may have guessed, I have a lifelong love of learning. Much about these medical thrillers comes from the heart of a teacher - everything from the female protagonist to the medical suspense and romance - it's my hope that these elements allow the story to entertain and educate. Q - What authors inspired your writing style?A - I'm an avid reader. I enjoy the medical thrillers of Robin Cook, Bobby Akart, and Tess Gerritsen. I love the suspense of Kathy Reichs and Tana French. At the sentence level, I'm a fan of Denis Johnson and Lorrie Moore, particularly their more literary take on plot twists and perspective. And, of course, I enjoy reading nonfiction on the weird world of radioactivity.Q - When does Book 2 in the X-ray Diaries Series come out?A - I'm hoping for Summer 2021
