| Publisher Description: A month has passed since Nazarene defeated the maned one with the voice of thunder. Having escaped a prison camp, Nazarene and her friend Apollos seek refuge in the hidden Shalom Valley with the Acacia Pride, a group of lions and leopards who all follow the Great Shepherd, the Creator of heaven and earth. Hiding from the rising New Kingdom and faced with the threat of famine, Nazarene begins to have premonitions that a retaliatory invasion from the ruthless Greater Aquarian Kingdom is imminent. Her qualms are apparently validated even more when a mysterious leopard stalks her for a whole week all while avoiding the sight of all her friends.By week's end, Nazarene's fear finally comes to pass; however, what invades is an army of alien long-toothed cats which force her, Apollos, and four of their friends to be separated from the rest of the Acacia Pride. However, the six of them are safely led out of the valley by a gang of wandering teenage leopards who call themselves the Rogue Panthers. The gang's leader, a self-proclaimed follower of the Great Shepherd, has striking similarities to Nazarene's baby brother Ray that leaves Nazarene very curious about his true identity. But when he begins to show signs of passive aggression toward her as well as hints of inner hatred, Nazarene is eventually forced to face her past before she can face the future. |
