Publisher Description:
100 Acts of Kindness is the record of making a collaboration woodcut print among 100 artists from all over the world. Content includes an explanation of the project, pictures of each panel, each artist contribution and their comments, history of previous projects, how to make a puzzle print and more. A Puzzle Print is a large design composed of "puzzle pieces", each of which is designed and carved by a unique artist under a common theme, in this case Kindness. The project director designs and cuts the wood block into puzzle-like pieces, then sends the pieces to participant artists; they carve their own small design and send the tiny piece back. Then the director assembles the carved pieces. The entire design is printed as a woodcut print and each artist receives a large print with all the contributions.Print Title: 100 Acts of Kindness: Monumental Collaborative Puzzle Print #6Project Director: Maria Arango Diener 1000woodcuts@gmail.comProject Dates: February 2020 to February 2021Artists: 100 artists listed followingType of Print: Woodcut Puzzle PrintSize: 30 inches high (76 cm) by 110 inches wide (280 cm)Paper: Rising Stonehenge Ivory, 5 sheets 22 x 30 (56 x 76 cm) inches eachBlock: Cherry Plywood, 5 blocks 22 x 30 inches (56 x 76 cm), cut into 100 irregular puzzle pieces approximately 4-6 inches (10-15 cm) in diameterInk: Gamblin Portland Black, Graphic Chemical Perfect Palette Black and Tom Huck's Intense Black Oil Based ReliefEdition: First edition 100 print sets of eight prints each, untitled, unnumbered, unsigned, stamped on back with Project Seal.
