Publisher Description:
It's a movie within a movie, framed.Pre-Covid-19: Considering herself a modern Feminist Artist cramming The Truth down America's 2020 throat, a director worries about attracting the wrong crowd (prudes and Republicans) to her Art Film... which premieres that summer. Her film's about a stripper, Florance Honeypott, busted for stripping in a strip joint in 1972. While being interrogated by Detective Wasp (an African American), the United American Minorities (TV Stars) bust in and take over. If they can prove Honeypott's All American life made her alleged crime inevitable, she is innocent and cannot be charged. Thus, because her "crime" is sexually related, in flashback, scenes from Honeypott's life are revealed: When and where she first learned of sex. When and with whom she first had sex. And her first experience with True Love. As scheduled, the film, ALL AMERICAN: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF FLORANCE HONEYPOTT, premieres on the Fourth of July, 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, with a masked and socially distanced Audience, local News coverage and a massive Community Review Board overreaction with guns-blazing police support. IT'S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD beds GOD BLESS AMERICA (a Bobcat Goldthwait movie) kind of film. A comedic satire and love story about American democracy-in-action way, way back then... and now.
