Publisher Description:
This book will not give you a definitive answer as to the nature of God or the Universe as a whole..., but it does raise some interesting possibilities! It is hard to imagine that we are here by random chance or dumb luck and that our existence is dependent upon a simple roll of the dice! Lately, the question in scientific circles is not only "How did we get here" but also a more vexing question: "Why are we still here?" While I would consider myself a fool to believe the stories of modern shamans, so too do I think that outright rejection of a Creator having something to do with our existence is folly at its worst. This not only means that anything a holy man tells me is immediately suspect but so are any arguments for the absence of a God as proposed by the likes of Richard Dawkins or Christopher Hitchens. Rather than debate the merits of Natural Selection vs. an Intelligent Designer I propose that we go further back, or drill deeper down, to look at the development of the Cosmos from a scientific point of view. This way we can see how this would suggest a solution to either the absence of evidence or the fact of a Creator on some level! I am basing my argument on the position that we would not even be here to discuss this, or anything else if it were not for an incredible list of cosmic coincidences that were necessary for our 'reality to have happened at all! Keeping all of this in mind regarding the existence and continuation of the Universe, the simplistic stories told to us by our holy men seems patently absurd. But, saying that the Universe was created through pure chance and stupid luck (Darwinism) is a scientifically cowardly way of getting an answer as well, so how about describing Creation / God / Mother Nature / Allah or the Almighty as a set of rules! We use rules to explain Nature, (And rules concerning the evolution of the Cosmos!) but where did the rules come from? For life to exist, it must follow certain rules, and the religions of the West are not to be blindly followed since they were designed only to further the agenda of the people who spread that particular dogma. SO: We must look for other possible explanations!
