Publisher Description:
W O N D R I C U SChildren and the adults who read it alone or with them will love Wondricus -The Quest for the Way Out. They are sure to laugh and wonder while theynod at the wisdom imparted within the story.Wondricus is a marvelous tale of a children's adventure fantasy in the land where rainbows are born. It is whimsical like Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and The Wizard of Oz.If there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, what is at the beginning? Two resourceful children accidentally float away tied to a cluster of balloons. While drifting in the air they dodge a dangerous woodpecker and save a one-legged bird with only five wings before they trip on a rainbow.Sliding down on the slippery blue bank of the rainbow they land in the florestof Runkledungding where they meet a wise and helpful elf. There are no treesin the florest. If there were, it would be a forest. The florest is filled withgigantic flowers and inhabited by strange and wonderful animals. As they explore this strange land, the children encounter many extraordinarycreatures like the kangadrool who may be terrified of kangaroos; thecrocosmile who owns a watch that can speed or slow time depending on his mood; the antsniffer who sniffs ants because he is an antsniffer; the balamoose who holds up his antlers with suspenders; the horse of a featherwho does not stick together and the zoom-by who gets so excited he canhardly zoom still. They also skillfully dodge the inept giant nasty tertiums whowant to kidnap them to make a bouquet to give to their mother on her birthday.Once they reach Rainbow Falls the children witness the fantastic birth of a rainbow. They also cleverly discover the secret magical way to return to their home. The story has much humour and some light suspense but is without violence.
