I am also grateful for the innumerable quotes that apply to addictions though it was not the speaker's intention. A careful study of the Old Testament reveals issues concerning addictions. We've been fortunately blessed with God-gifted people who can explain. When Jesus came, we gained a greater understanding of God and ourselves. As we gained a greater understanding of God and ourselves, we gained a greater understanding of addictions. Then, once again, God blessed us with people who could explain it. The blessing that Christ spoke of was not just for those who followed Him while He walked on earth, but for those who follow Him since His ascension.
