In these revised and updated editions, Lynch introduces the major instrument families, offering basic descriptions and diagrams as well as composer and performer names, "sound activities," and examples of instruments. The sharp, plentiful photographs (many featuring kids playing instruments) effectively represent each instrument family's diverse array. However, in making the text simple enough for young readers, factual accuracy is sometimes compromised. Reading list. Glos., ind.
