Contributor Bio(s): Mikal, Muhammad Malik: - Mikal Malik Muhammad is an 17 year old 12th grader from Jersey City, NJ, He is the 2nd oldest sibling in a family of 6 children. His love for art and drawing stems back from when he was just a mere 3 years old, showing promise eve n then with his meticulous sketches of SpongeBob SquarePants. His father remembers, -By the time he turned 5, his drawings were so detailed and dead on that he could've stood in for its original creators!- Mikal continues to draw and adds to his collection of artwork daily. -If I couldn't draw I believe I would go crazy!- he exclaims. When asked how his friends and teachers at school feel about his drawings he says, -They think its' pretty cool.-Muhammad, Carrie L.: - Carrie Muhammad is an educator and author. The inspiration for her workbook comes from the book -Flag of Islam- by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. She saw the need for the Flag of Islam to be more accessible to children. She was also inspired by Mother Tynetta Muhammad, the wife of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad who stated that -the whole scope of Master Fard Muhammad's teachings is Astronomy-, thus stressing the importance of teaching Astronomy to our children at Muhammad University of Islam. |
