Publisher Description:
Dawn Pratt Salary was always a strong scholar earning a B.S. Degree from Fisk University and an MBA from Vanderbilt University. Once she earned her degrees, Dawn gained employment with various corporate entities including the Internal Revenue Service, FedEx, and Ferguson Enterprises. In 2004, she made the decision to leave the corporate world and to put all her energies into being the best wife, mother, and homemaker she could be. Dawn's greatest passion is her relationship with God. This passion was the impetus for Dawn to speak out for those who are fearful of speaking out for themselves. Her passion for being a voice for the voiceless motivated her to accept her calling to become a minister. She uses her ministries as platforms for which to serve. One ministry example is "The Flashlight Ministry: Shedding Light on the Darkest of Deeds" created to educate society regarding the detrimental effects of all forms of sexual violence, to empower survivors of rape/sexual assault, and to encourage the loved ones who provide support to rape/sexual assault survivors. Additionally, Dawn serves as a Human Trafficking Advocate with the Virginia Beach Justice Initiative which entails working with victims of human trafficking on re-entry to society. She is also the founder of Dawn Salary Ministries which serves as a ministry platform focused on complete healing and deliverance from strongholds that hinder individuals from living a Kingdom lifestyle while on earth. Dawn's strength is her candor and meeting challenges head-on. In this book, she shares that candor with her readers as well as the need and processes for fighting through some of life's challenges. Dawn lives in Suffolk, Virginia with her husband, Rev. Dr. Leroy Salary, Jr. They are the proud parents of two young adults, Dalia and Jordan.
