Publisher Description:
The Common Outcast is about a fifteen-year-old girl named Charlotte Scott who goes through one dramatic and traumatising year. She sits and cries, and maybe hates a little too much. But if there's one thing that she gained from life it was the pain and life lessons. After losing her dad three years prior to her challenging year, she gets caught up in a house fire. Luckily her younger sister and mother escape, but that doesn't mean that it's okay after all Charlotte is still trapped inside. She wakes up in the hospital, and all of a sudden her worst nightmares come to life. She's decided against life once again, and when things start to unravel and she lets herself get help, she only gets worse. Until she meets some strangers (initially), the people she meets are the ones who make an impact on her daily life, and that's where it all starts to pick up. But being young and going through hard times doesn't make things easy, with monthly battles being forced upon her, will she make it through in one piece, or will she crumble under the pressure? At the end of the day, she is a teenager and she doesn't exactly know what to do. With many battles and themes that a lot of teenagers go through, Charlotte has to pull through. She needs to be stronger than the rest.
