Publisher Description:

Some deeply religious people interpret the Bible literally, while others view it as an attempt by the ancients to make sense of matters beyond their comprehension. In The Morning of the Seventh Day, Martin Jefferson Overstreet presents a fresh view: Scripture is really an account of the relationship between God and Man.

Overstreet focuses on the Creation account in Genesis and the End Times in Revelation and examines them from a purely spiritual perspective. He finds that Genesis is really the story of the creation of the bond between us and God, and the last four chapters of Revelation are the extension and resolution of the Genesis story so that Man can conform to God's Holy Image.

God rested on the seventh day because His work was finished. Our work however, and the work of conforming Man to the image of God is not yet done. A Christian who struggles to surrender his life and will to God and understand the Bible will ultimately realize that it is a communication from God about the choice each of us must make. That choice is life or death. As we choose life, we recognize God's sovereignty and accept his plan for us in Earth-and by doing so, we become part of the community of Heaven.
