Contributor Bio(s): Courtright, Paula: - "I grew up on a farm in Louisiana and was introduced to many farm animals at an early age. I met and married an Air Force Viet Nam Veteran who also grew up on a farm with similar love for animals. We bought our own farm and have raised cattle for many years. Our two children also developed a love for animals and it was our son, when in high school, found our first two rescued dogs. Our family has been involved with rescuing dogs off and on since 1991. In the years since, we have seen animal rescue evolve into a network of tireless volunteers who give so much into rescuing dogs and finding good homes for them. The many dogs that have passed through our home, whether being fostered or having found their forever home with us, all have a story. Those that we were able to find a home for on our own in the early years, those in the later years through rescue groups, and along with those that have become a permanent part of our family, they've all received a piece of our heart. "Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened!" - Anatole France. We have two grown children and seven grandchildren. And our farm consist of cows, horses, cats and dogs. All of our cats and dogs we rescued. We enjoy being active with our farm, our grandchildren, and our church."
