Publisher Description: Based on her Doctoral research, Katherine Giles's study focuses on the physical structure and spatial arrangement of medieval guildhalls. A programme of EDM and hand survey, as well as photogaphic recording was applied to three guildhalls in York (Trinity Hall, St John the Baptist's Hall and St Anthony's Hall), and the author's theoretical and methodological approaches are considered with regard to these case studies and to the study of guildhalls in general. |
