Gaydene Hepburn-McClain is presently the Investment and Business Consultant of International Business Professionals (IBP) which provides investment advice to potential and approved investors; creating Business Plans and Project Proposals; establishing joint venture relationships, investor representation, and the hiring and training of staff via in-house training, workshops, conferences or individual sessions. A 24-year veteran of the Public Service of The Bahamas, she began her career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she gained extensive training in protocol, economics, women's affairs, international relations, consular and visa relations, investments, etc. While at this Ministry, Mrs. McClain had the opportunity to travel to the United Nations where she represented the Bahamian Government in serving as a Foreign Service Diplomat for the Annual Session of the General Assembly. She also received specialized training at the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Turin, Italy; the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Geneva, Switzerland and has attended numerous conferences and workshops in Europe, the United States and the Caribbean. Having had the opportunity to be deployed at the former Ministry of Financial Services and Investments, she was instrumental in assisting in the development of policy in investment and assisted in the training of new recruits under the leadership of the former Director of Investments, Mr. Basil Albury. After this Ministry evolved into the Bahamas Investment Authority (BIA), within the Office of the Prime Minister, Mrs. McClain assisted in the contribution of the Small Business Trade Shows organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and The Bahamas Agricultural and Industrial Corporation (BAIC) and training of new Family Island Administrators via its annual Family Island Administration workshops. Since the establishment of her new company IBP, Mrs. McClain has also been featured on www.thebahamasweekly.com and www.bahamaislandsinfo.com for the training courses her company has provided and has been on television interviews on The Sawyer Report with Jerome Sawyer, March 2012 and Roundtable Discussion with Tanya McCartney, October 2012 addressing matters regarding foreign direct investment in The Bahamas and the economy. Mrs. McClain has been married for nineteen (19) years to Mr. Herman McClain, II and they have been blessed with three children, Alexandrya, Ashley, and Jonathan McClain.
