Publisher Description:
You can read all you want to try to prepare for living and working in a foreign country, but nothing compares to actually being there. You are out of your comfort zone. In learning the language and how to adjust to EVERYTHING, adjustments have to be made if you want to survive. You are forever changed in how you see people and this metamorphosis affects how you go through the rest of your life. Being in a different culture transforms you in so many ways. Through tears and funny experiences I impart to you my Colombian experience. These are just a few of the events, stories and adventures that we experienced while living here. Joey and her husband, Danny, currently live in Cali, Colombia as English teachers. Joey teaches children in Pre-school and Primary while her husband teaches teenagers in Secondary. After school, they are involved in teaching teens and adults at the school's Language Center all while trying to learn the native tongue. Living in the States, they have two grown wonderfully supportive sons and two perfect grandchildren. Joey has always enjoyed reading and writing, but this is her first effort in publishing any of her writings. Living and working in a foreign country has inspired her to recount her extraordinary experiences.
