It describes how she fulfilled a lifelong dream with this adventure. There was much danger, such as high altitude, avalanches, landslides and also exhaustion to overcome. She encountered people from different races and religions, she shared time with them in their houses. There was disappointment when the weather conditions prevented the last part of the trek to be completed but there was compensation, even in this, by experiencing another mode of travel. High up in the city of Leh she felt suddenly that she had been there before. The beauty of the landscape from deep green mountain sides in Kashmir to the bare rock in high altitude left a lasting impression on her life and shaped her perspective of the world. |
