Publisher Description:
Tragedy in K nigsberg is an Alternate History/Murder Mystery novel. Set in 1956, seventeen years after the Autumn War of 1939: Imagine a world in which the Second World War lasted months not years: where there was no Fall of France, no attack on Pearl Harbour, and no Jewish Holocaust. Such a world holds all the trappings of peace and prosperity, but underneath it all a dark tension remains: suggesting the harmony is deceptive. National grievances remain unresolved, conflict only half-fought, and the desire for revenge grows ever harder to resist. When Inspector Henri Ferrand is called to K nigsberg to investigate the murder of the French and German Commissioners to East Prussia, he is unwittingly embroiled in a dangerous game of international intrigue and conspiracy. Aided by his partner Gerard Vasseur and the mysterious Monsieur Lenard, Henri is forced to confront the subterranean forces seeking to shatter the fragile peace. Along the way he will encounter Soviet KGB agents, Italian Fascist police, and Nazi sympathisers, all of whom will stop at nothing to achieve their goals. Henri will discover that a world of unresolved conflicts and simmering tensions can be just as dangerous as one where war is waged with total commitment.
