On the other side of the emotional curve, the book features a moving Prologue and Epilogue about his May 2014 diagnosis of terminal bile duct cancer, which he continues to fight with western medicine and the power of prayer from his wife, family and friends; and accounts of his long struggles with chronic illness and anxiety, and drug and alcohol addiction. Featuring both humor and poignancy is a moving account of how he and his Brazilian wife found each other while living 7,500 miles apart, and then planned and carried out a full church wedding in only three weeks in fall 2014.
