Contributor Bio(s): Weiss, Dylan: - Dylan, a speech-language pathologist for more than thirty-five years, specialized in geriatric communication disorders and progressive neurologic disease. When her mother developed Parkinson's and could not get treatment due to misunderstood Medicare regulations, she was inspired to make a difference by writing Reimbursable Geriatric Service Delivery, a Functional Maintenance Therapy System, which became a bestseller in her profession. After her husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, Dylan retired from a successful career and became a caregiver for the next fifteen years. Again, she was inspired to write, documenting the challenges they faced and the creative communication programs she developed throughout his decline. Dylan's article, "Sharing the Load," won an Excel Award from the Society of National Association of Publishers in the literary category. After Dave's death, Dylan became a community leader, sitting on Parks and Recreation boards, improving the township's parks system, promoting green efforts, and expanding her writing efforts. Norton's Tale is a prequel to her chapter book, Sebastian's Tale. Look for the third book in her Skunk Tales Trilogy in the future.
