The second meeting between the two writers came in a hospital room, as Wright lay dying of cancer. She has written fifteen books of poetry and produced four CDs. A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, she is a member of the Muskogee Creek Nation. Harjo lives in Honolulu and teaches writing at the University of New Mexico. |
