Contributor Bio(s): Teasdale, John D.: - John Teasdale is one of the co-developers of Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy for Depression (MBCT), and a co-author of the books Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy for Depression, and The Mindful Way through Depression. Now retired, he was formerly a senior researcher with the UK Medical Research Council in the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. His research contributed to the base of understanding from which MBCT was derived, and provided the evidence demonstrating the clinical effectiveness of MBCT in preventing relapse in depression.Semple, Randye J.: - Randye J. Semple, PhD, is an assistant professor of clinical psychiatry at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. A graduate of Columbia University, she trains psychiatry residents and provides clinical supervision. Semple's research focuses on the development and integration of mindfulness-based interventions in psychiatric clinical care.
